No. 005A note from the founder
Why I’m starting in the kitchen.

I’m Hunter, the founder of Mostly Sunday. I’m building this company to bring a little more human, analog feeling into our everyday lives.
For the love of cooking.
For me, the kitchen is the natural place to begin.
Cooking for someone is a very physical way of showing you care. You choose ingredients, make a little space, spend time preparing something. There’s attention in all of it, even when the meal is simple. You’re doing something with your hands for a person you love.
I want to stay close to that feeling while I’m cooking.
Reaching for a phone to set a timer can feel like a small interruption. I’ve gone from making something to looking at a screen that holds so much of the rest of my life. The task is still just to count a few minutes, but suddenly there are other places my attention can go.
That feeling is part of why I’m making a kitchen timer.
I like the idea of giving that small task a physical home. An object on the counter, with a dial you turn and a purpose you understand. Something that belongs among the bowls, mugs and utensils already involved in making dinner.
I care about how it looks because I want people to enjoy having it there. The scalloped shape and warm colors are part of making a useful object feel welcome in the room. Its everyday usefulness has to deserve the same attention.
The Scallop Timer is our first product, and it’s still in development. There’s work ahead to bring the physical finishes and mechanism together. I want to share that process here, including the decisions we’re working through and what we learn along the way.
My hope for Mostly Sunday is simple. I want to make things that feel good to reach for while you’re living your life. Things that help a familiar task stay connected to the room you’re in and the people you’re doing it for.
Starting with a few minutes in the kitchen feels right to me.
